The Harvard Alley Workshop

It's an acting workshop.  But really it's a multidisciplinary approach to play.  Facilitated by an actor/educator/artist whose first experience of the power of the imagination to transform the real came to her while engaged in what must have been an hour-plus-long extended improvisation with The Living Stage here in Washington, D.C.  But it felt like five minutes.

Together in this weekly workshop, we come together to peel back the layers, connecting to our own imaginative impulses,  interacting spontaneously with each other and with the world around us.  We do this through sensory explorations, connecting to the physical through movement, sculpting forms, automatic writing, and character-creation.  Lately we're exploring the concept of negative space, creating a performance about negative space and specifically about traces left behind.
